Applewood Farms has twenty-one stalls that are fully matted and cleaned twice a day when horses are inside. We have a fly spray system in each stall and down the 15 foot cement center isle. All the stalls have automatic waterers and a feed bucket is provided for each stall. We have 2 indoor wash stalls with hot and cold water. We have a large tack room to keep your saddle and bridle that stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It is kept locked when no one is around the barn. You are welcome to keep a tack truck in the isle outside of your stall. We also have a security system in place and heat alarms in the hay area. We live on the property so we are never far away!
We have boarded paddocks or pasture turnout with run-in sheds in every paddock and each of the 3 pastures. The paddocks have a lot of large trees that provide plenty of shade in the summer. You can have individual turnout for your horse if needed but usually they do better with another horse with them! We do not put more than 2 horses in a paddock at one time. In the summer, most of our horses are on 24/7 turn out as we have found this makes them much happier. In the winter they are brought in every night and blanketed which is included in the board cost.
We feed Legends Performance feed from Southern States twice a day with no charge for dispensing supplements provided by owners. Unlimited hay is provided in the paddocks that do not have grass. Our hay is fescue or a fescue/ orchard grass mix.
Our lounge is open to all clients with a living room/TV area , kitchen area, and restroom with full facilities. Washer and dryer also on site for boarders to use.
We offer many high quality riding venues. Our large outdoor arena is 250' X 150' and has all weather footing with a full course of beautiful jumps. Our 200' X 80' indoor arena has lights and jumps. The rings are kept in great shape and groomed at least 3 times a week. The 60' boarded round pen has sand footing and is the only place we allow lunging. There are many miles of beautiful trails in the area as well.
You are welcome to use your own farrier or vet, but you must be there for the appointment to catch and hold your horse. If you use our vet and farrier, we will schedule your visits and hold your horse for the vet or farrier. We use Carolina Equine for our veterinary services, their beautiful new facility is only 3 miles down the road, so it is very convenient!
